Classmates

Come join us and let everyone know "what's been going on with you".    In addition to helping us stay in touch with you, you will be helping us build a directory of the class from the information you provide, so we can keep everyone up to date with plans for the 45th.  You need to provide a username and password so that you can edit your information later if you choose to.  Fill in as much additional information as you are comfortable giving....we hope you will all give us an up-to-date address, phone number and email address (isn't email wonderful...think of how much easier all of this would have been for the 10th and the 20th!!!!  Course we were young and energetic back then.)  AND maybe a recent photo along with a bit of news about you.  If you don't have a picture handy right now....you can add it later.  If you don't have a "then" photo don't worry about it...it will magically appear in a couple of days.  Thank you for joining in the fun of remembering.

Comment: Looking forward to seeing everyone again. It has been a long time. I retired from the Air Force with 22 yrs in service as a MSgt. I enjoyed my tour in the service as an air traffic controller . Many life enriching experiences and duties that took me to many of the far reaching corners of this globe. Such places as Korea, Germany, England, Egypt (king tuts tomb) calif and one remote assignment to texas. After 22 years i started working for the California Highway Patrol as a Public Safety Dispatcher II in the San Francisco Bay area, which include 9 counties. I have been enjoying the privilege helping stranding motorist and individuals in emergency conditions and helping the officers perform their duties for the last 16 years.

Comment: Married right out of school...seems like I was born married. My 1st marriage ended in divorce, but was blessed with a son named John. My 2nd marriage (36 yrs now) we were blessed with another son named Justin (33 yrs old). Sadly, next month will be 4 yrs since the good Lord took our son John (33 yrs old) home to Heaven. It's left a painful void that only God can fill.
My husband Ed retired in Nov. 07, as a general contractor. We've lived in Placerville, CA (between Sacramento & Lake Tahoe) for 35 yrs. Absolutely beautiful country. I especially love the changing of the seasons. I'm a country girl at heart. Previously worked for Marshall Hospital for 9 yrs as an Admitting Rep. Currently employed with the El Dorado County DA's office with the Victim Witness Center as a Claims Specialist (over 10 yrs)...never a dull moment. Don't think retirement is in my vocabulary.
God is still #1 in my life! :-)

This is an update to the info below...I am old. I have tried retirement for a year and am really not a fan so decided to start up my bookkeeping service and work about 20 hours a week.  So far it seems perfect. I am going to be selling my house and move to Alpine with my sister by the end of the year.  Up there I plan on getting a paddleboard and kayak and spend my days floating around in the water. My great nephew graduated from SDSU and my great niece is still trying to find herself.  Both are striking out on their own soon. So I will be on my own as well. See you all at the 50th Reunion in a month.

2010 has been quite a year for me so far...I turned 60...my long time boyfriend died after a 6 month battle with lymphoma...my mom passed away and my great-nephew graduated from High School yesterday.  Wow!

WOW – 40 YEARS! Sometimes I have a hard time believing I’m that old. But then there are days that I feel like I’m 120. Well I never was good at math as anyone that was in Mr. Harvey’s algebra class with me can attest to.

I’ve done a lot of things over the years. I tried college and wasn’t much good at it. I came home and married Dennis Earhart Hilltop ’68. We were too young but we had a beautiful daughter Brawnwyn before we broke up. One of my many jobs was at the Sears Candy Counter where I met a cute janitor working his way through San Diego State. We got married, he adopted Brawn and we worked around the San Diego area for a few years before we got the bug to move to Idaho.

It was 1979, we didn’t know anyone, we didn’t have jobs, we just jumped! It was the scariest thing I ever did in my life. Finally, after 28 years and a lot of ups and downs, we have somewhat steady jobs (if working for the State of Idaho can be considered steady). Life is pretty good. Bob and I both work for the Idaho Transportation Department. He audits projects for a district office and I work in the Annex at the state Headquarters for the Highway Operations Administration section. We work with guys that plow the roads, build the roads, you name it. I’ve worked with ever thing except drivers licenses and truck permits (by choice!). I might get to retire in 3 years and Bob is looking at 7 years if we’re lucky.

Brawn and her family live close by so we see them fairly often. She has two sons, Beau is 16 and Bryan is 14. I wish I liked beer because her husband is a salesman for Corona, Miller and Coors. Darn!

I’m looking forward to July and seeing everyone again. Thanks Beth, Gracia and everyone else that’s helping! You do a great job every time!

Comment: Our daughter Claire started college this year.  Makes me sound young, but actually I had her when I was 40!  My husband is still involved with polo and we travel to great destinations each summer.  I just pack up the old computer stuff and do my website business where ever I happen to be.  Since I've never been able to save a dime, you'll probably see me sometime in the near future greeting everyone as they enter Walmart.  Technology being what it is, and the old dog new trick thing, kind of makes it inevitable.  Can't wait to see everyone at the reunion... I'm storing up some great new jokes (get ready Jeff Smith).  I can't believe this is the 40th... I'm still waiting to mature.

Comment: Hey all.  40 years in one paragraph?  OK here goes.  Married 32 years with 4 kids, 6 grandkids.  Last 20 or so years I've been a teacher in the Sweetwater School District at various sites, even did a summer school session at Hilltop.  As a kid, I went to Hilltop Elementary (kindergarden with Steve Summers and Patty Bell), Hilltop Jr., Hilltop High, Southwestern JC and ended up living in Bonita teaching at Chula Vista High.  Guess you might say I haven't gone very far in life!  Actually I have traveled a bit, I've been in all 50 states and had a wonderful life so far.  Looking forward to the 80th (?) reunion.  Also, if I ever tried to sell you life insurance, sorry, it was just a phase.  I'm better now!

The now picture is Speedy and me.

Comment: Hi Everyone,
Wow, 40th...how can that be?  So much "life" has happened. Thanks for adding me to the email loop. After reading about some of us, maybe we should have one of those all purpose medical RV's at our shindig.  Hey, we're still young at heart, right? This pix is of me and my two daughters.
Take care. : )

Ever since the PSA plane crash in 1978 I have been working for the American Red Cross in disaster relief work. For the past 18 years I have been at the headquarters in Washington, DC. I’ve made plans to get out there in July. That was the easy part, now the hard part, getting in shape! It will be nice to get a chance to see people. A vacation with family will also be nice. The day after the reunion I will be going with my folks out to Hawaii for some great golf and relaxation. Out here, besides getting in as much golf as possible, I enjoy volunteering for the Smithsonian Institutions Air & Space Museum. I am a docent at the new facility out by Dulles airport. It’s great being able to show people things like a Space Shuttle, a Concorde, and the Enola Gay. A great way to spend a Saturday. If anybody is planning on spending some time in the Washington, DC area be sure to let me know, I would love to give you a tour of the museum.
