Classmates
Come join us and let everyone know "what's been going on with you".    In addition to helping us stay in touch with you, you will be helping us build a directory of the class from the information you provide, so we can keep everyone up to date with plans for the 45th.  You need to provide a username and password so that you can edit your information later if you choose to.  Fill in as much additional information as you are comfortable giving....we hope you will all give us an up-to-date address, phone number and email address (isn't email wonderful...think of how much easier all of this would have been for the 10th and the 20th!!!!  Course we were young and energetic back then.)  AND maybe a recent photo along with a bit of news about you.  If you don't have a picture handy right now....you can add it later.  If you don't have a "then" photo don't worry about it...it will magically appear in a couple of days.  Thank you for joining in the fun of remembering.

Hey, all - nice to see everybody's entries.  I'm not any older (emotionally) than I was 40 years ago.  Remember - you can only be young once, but you can be immature forever. It seems to have worked for me. I still think about what I want to do when I grow up....Looking at one more year or so until I can retire. 31 years in the Fire Service; probably the best job in the world. Life is good. 34 years married, 4 great kids, 6 (soon to be 7) grandchildren. Still playing in a rock band and having fun. Since high school I have continued to live in the area, La Mesa for  a while and in Jamul for the past 25 or so years. Note to reunion committee - print the name badges in GIANT PRINT so we can all read the names without straining a gasket, or bending over to the point where we need help standing back up straight. PS: I used to be a paramedic, so if somebody starts to croak, I can call 911..

Back in San Diego but spend as much time as possible in Philadelphia visiting my daughter, son in law and granddaughter. Also still spend time in Port St. Joe, Florida, and remain on the board of a nonprofit that purchased and is renovatiing an historic theater. I am an equity partner of a construction company here, specializing in hotel renovations. Glad to be back with life-long friends and looking forward to the 50th reunion! Sure wish I was retired - but plan to work a couple more years. So - to all of you who are retired, feel free to rub it in at the reunion. See you!

40 years!  How time does fly.  We all have a story to tell, and here is the Reader Digest version of mine:  Started at Southwestern, then went to a small college in Iowa, where I majored in Pscyh.  While there, took a test with some Navy recruiters and ended up joining the Navy and going to Officer Candidate School in Rhode Island.  After I was commissioned, I received orders to a very exotic place called San Diego. Imagine that.  Anyway, I was sent to Vietnam and Cambodia and assisted in the evacuations in 1975.   Got out of the Navy and hired by El Cajon P.D.  Spent 1 year with them, then C.V.P.D. for the rest of my law enforcement career.  I am retired from law enforcement and have transitioned from "large pests" to "small pests".  I am one of the owners of a local pest control company.  Also involved in the industry at the local and state levels. We live in Bonita, where we designed and had our home built.  Still a local boy.My wife, Tamara, and I have one child, a daughter, Cassidy.  She is 14 years old.  She keeps me busy with her softball.  I have been one of the assistant coaches for her teams for the last 3 years.  I really enjoy that. For fun, I have a couple of Harleys.  One is for sell, as I found I can only ride one at a time!  Seriously, I was hoping Tamara would take on one of the bikes, but she prefers backseat.I'm looking forward to the reunion.  Haven't been in contact with many Lancers.  Tom Everett and I were close, but as you know, he passed away.  Every now and then Paul Rowe and I talk.  Looking forward to seeing Paul and all of you.

Wow 50 years! It’s hard to believe, I can honestly say it’s flown by. It almost seems like yesterday that I was marching with my team of majorettes in front of the Hilltop High Band at the Rose Parade.  The December after our graduation I married Paul Hastings class of ’66 and tuba player.  We were married for 13 years and had two kids, Glenn and Jennifer the prides of my life.  We lived in Chula Vista at the time and I did dressmaking out of our home.  In the late ‘70s I started manufacturing a children’s line of coveralls and jumpers.  I had a sales rep at the Cal Mart in Los Angeles. I sold to 150 stores a cross the country including Neiman Marcus in Las Vegas.  In 1982 Paul and I decided to go our separate ways and I closed the business and moved the kids and I to Torrance in the Los Angeles area.
For the next 20 years, I worked for several different garment manufactures. The first small companies that I worked for I did everything from design, pattermaking, and production supervision.  As the jobs evolved I found my talents were best used as a head production patternmaker.  I worked for some great companies such as “Carol Little”, “Nancy Johnson” and “Traces”.
As the kids started growing up I also started doing more with my art. I enjoyed both watercolor painting and wearable art.  I joined local art guilds and started doing gallery and outdoor shows.  In 1993 I joined two co-ops, The Artists’ Studio in Palos Verdes Estates and Art-A-Fair in Laguna Beach.
In 1995, I married the love of my life, John Baer.  He has been my best friend and biggest supporter of my art.  We have enjoyed doing a lot of traveling around the world.  We have visited some wonderful places like Tibet, China, India, Nepal, Myanmar, South America, Italy and the Antarctic to name only a few.  Family has been very important to us.  We have 3 beautiful fun-loving granddaughters in their 20s and 5 adorable, cute, funny great-grandchildren from 3 years old to 9 years old.
I exhibited 25 years at Laguna Art-A-Fair and John was on the Board of Directors for 15 of those years. We retired in 2017 and are looking forward to moving to Eugene, Oregon soon to be closer to our growing family.

Greetings!  Two beautiful grandchildren, several thousands of miles of travel, retired except for occasional substitute teaching to pay for the travel, volunteering at Living Coast Discovery Center (CV Nature Center), teaching a special needs Sunday school class, and lots of free time. That's my life!

Sadly, my husband, Larry, died in March of 2006 of a brain anuerysm.  I stayed in Wyoming and met a man who was widowed about 3 years.  We have a lot in common and are now engaged to be married.  He moved to Wyoming from North Carolina (and took a huge pay cut to do so).  He is in my current photo.

I remembered when I turned 40 - and that was 18 years ago!!!  And now it's the 40 yr reunion - time is whizzing by!  It will be good to see everyone soon!  We have lived in Colorado since 1983 with the exception of a brief move to Chapel Hill, NC in 2000, returning to the Denver area in 2002.  We love it here!  We have 4 children, all married, and 11 grandchildren.  One son lives in Hawaii, one daughter lives in Alaska, one son lives in Mesa, AZ and one daughter lives 20 minutes away.  Doug is my awesome husband of 35 years and we've enjoyed many wonderful adventures over the years.  Our family likes to run together so we try to meet at some running venue as often as possible.  I ran one marathon four years ago, but now I mostly babysit the grandkids while the others run (unless it is shorter distances)!I have so many fond memories of my years at Hilltop and the awesome friends from years long past.  See you soon!!
