Comment: | Hi folks! Can't wait to see everyone! As is frequently the case in people ALMOST SIXTY, there is plenty of me to see! I just finished building the Otay Ranch Town Center in Chula Vista (with Bayley Construction) and am currently working on a project in Mission Valley. As I have always insisted on having horses in my life, I will probably be working until the day I drop. A small price to pay for being able to live the life you love! |

Occupation: | General Contractor |
Comment: | I've been married to Cathy Williams ('68) for 36 years. We have two daughters and two grandsons. After college in Denver I returned to La Mesa and worked as a general contractor for a number of years. In the early 80s we moved to Lake Arrowhead where we owned a chain of video stores and a production company that created local TV programming. That led to a teaching position at the high school where I taught A/V Production and coached Track and Cross Country. In '94 we moved to Utah and I got back into commercial construction. Our projects have included a number of retail sites as well as some large assisted living retirement communities. We're looking forward to slowing down, moving to our Kentucky property and maybe building a house or two every year. |

Occupation: | Office Manager |
Comment: | Bob and I were married after college and we have two daughters and two grandsons. We lived in La Mesa, moved to Lake Arrowhead and then to Utah in 1994. We're looking forward to another move, have bought property near Lexington, KY and hope to semi-retire and do a lot more traveling. Over the years I've been involved in running our family businesses, using my teaching credential to sub-teach, and for a few years was the office manager of a software development firm. I quit that job when our oldest daughter and her family lost their home on the Gulf Coast to Hurricane Katrina and we found ourselves doing a lot of traveling between kids and home. Since the real estate market doesn't show any signs of improvement in the near future we've put the Kentucky plans on hold and I've gone back to work. I found a great job, close to home, flexible hours and worthwhile. I'm managing the office of a residential home for boys who are in state custody. It's rewarding, frustrating, heartbreaking and keeps me very busy. |

Comment: | Like everyone else, I wonder where the time went. Then, I remember a quote from a book that was popular when we were in high school: "The river is everywhere at the same time, at the source and at the mouth...in the ocean and in the mountains, everywhere, and that the present only exists for it, not the shadow of the past, nor the shadow of the future...Siddhartha the boy, Siddhartha the mature man and Siddhartha the old man [are] only separated by shadows, not through reality...Nothing was, nothing will be, everything has reality and presence." As for my reality, I've been married to David for almost 32 years. I'm an attorney and have my own firm. I specialize in family law and am a certified family law specialist. My husband retired from his job as a civil servant a few years ago and now he is working for me as a law office administrator. We travel extensively. Lots of trips to France. Shortly going to the UK. I still enjoy my work and am, in fact, expanding my law practice. We live in San Diego (Mission Hills) and every day I feel blessed. My father died in 1992 but my mother is still going strong and will be 90 in September. She lives in a condo she owns downtown. We don't have any children, but currently have 2 Maine Coon cats, Mattie and Max; our beloved cat that we had for 17 years, was a Maine Coon, too. Her name was Candy. My brother, Steve, lives in San Diego and he has 3 children with the youngest in highschool. I have lots of hobbies and look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion in July. |

Comment: | Hi all! I retired in 2014 and moved to Arizona. Love it! I spend most of my time having fun with new friends. As a hoot, worked at the spring training games at Camelback Ranch (Dodgers/White Sox). I also work at the Arizona Cardinals home games. Growing up with six brothers...I have a deep love for football. So I get to watch the games! Yahoo! Just the one daughter and no grandchildren (boohoo). I've gone natural with my hair...why not? Looking forward to seeing everyone in October for the BIG 50!!! |

Comment: | Wow! 40 years. Were we that young 40 years ago? Despite a few aches and additional pounds and hair loss -- I still feel the same with the exception of my reflection in a mirror. My history in a nutshell: Since then, June and I are active in a small vintage dance community in San Diego. She also does flamenco while I do swing dancing. Hope all are doing well and see you at the reunion!

Comment: | After HHS, I spent a few psychedelic years in college, but couldn’t get a decent job even with a BA from UCSD (recessions are tough). I tried again with an MBA from SDSU – that was much more practical! I’ve held several different jobs over the years, mostly in computers & finance – the most interesting was managing the automation of Jenny Craig centers in Australia (unfortunately I didn’t lose any weight on that job). I also tried my hand at real estate, developing a couple of beachfront homes in Venice Beach. I now spend time bicycling and playing Sudoku in a Mayberry-ish town named Templeton. I’ll be cooling down in Seattle for our 40th RU but hope to see you on the 45th (I’ll try to get a facelift before then so I don’t scare anyone). BTW, I ran into Karen Anderson several years ago, only to find that she had lived around the corner from me for the past 9 years! I’ve enjoyed reading everyone’s commentary…and can anyone tell me how Mark Bogart stayed so young-looking? I’ll post a “now” photo as soon as I can find one that measures up to his...How 'bout a photo of or garage-wine operations? |

Comment: | Greetings Fellow Lancers, Wow!!! Forty years later and we are still alive and kicking!! I cannot wait for the reunion and who knows, I might even recoginze someone!! Sandie Simmons (Hart) and I are still very close friends, so I will share this date with her too. As for me, single now and live in Chula Vista. I am still employed in the rapidly declining mortgage business and have been for 30 years. Probably unemployed before retirement!! I have two children and four wonderful grandchildren. Yes, even a 3rd generation Lancer, now that is frightening! I figure it is better for the teachers, NOT to know who his grandmother is, Rita Berman, that hippie rebel-rouser!!! Oh yeah!! My son will be 39 yrs. this year, and along with the reunion, will be a great highlight for 2008! Keep in touch all you Lancers, where ever you are?!?!? Thanks to the "organizers," I believe you are probably the same ones, who organized events at Hilltop...some things never change! PEACE & LOVE, Rita McIntyre |

Occupation: | Retired Operating Engineer |
Comment: | After graduating from law school I took a job in Los Angeles working for a labor union and ended up retiring from it over twenty-five years later. My wife Gabriela and I both retired at fifty five and moved to Colorado. Our son is an architect and he designed our home. Our daughter is an engineer and both of them still live in CA. We have three grandchildren. My wife is a quilter and I spend nearly all my time fly fishing year round. Life is great! |
