Classmates

Come join us and let everyone know "what's been going on with you".    In addition to helping us stay in touch with you, you will be helping us build a directory of the class from the information you provide, so we can keep everyone up to date with plans for the 45th.  You need to provide a username and password so that you can edit your information later if you choose to.  Fill in as much additional information as you are comfortable giving....we hope you will all give us an up-to-date address, phone number and email address (isn't email wonderful...think of how much easier all of this would have been for the 10th and the 20th!!!!  Course we were young and energetic back then.)  AND maybe a recent photo along with a bit of news about you.  If you don't have a picture handy right now....you can add it later.  If you don't have a "then" photo don't worry about it...it will magically appear in a couple of days.  Thank you for joining in the fun of remembering.

I can’t believe it has been 40 years, it sure has flown by for me. I enjoyed reading about all our Lancer classmates and where their lives have taken them; both near and far. Just think, it started in Chula Vista, California for all of us.

Hey, where is the info on Tom Waits? Our famous songwriter and producer? Google him sometime, what a great person!

I have lived in Carmel Valley, east of Del Mar, (not the northern California one) for the past 24 years and have been actively involved with our local community planning board and the design review process for plan development. I married a surfer and he has worked the past 40 year in the surfboard industry  as a color designer in North County area, as well as some consulting work in China. We have a step-daughter and son, both are grown and on their own. One granddaughter and one on the way.. After retiring from Nordstrom in Customer Service in 2004, I tried to figure out what I want to do with the second act of my life. I worked part time as a personal assistant, fill in work at a law office and finally decided to start my own business in home organizing/consulting, so far so good.

Have fun at the reunion, sorry I won’t be there to see everyone.

Comment: Hello to all.  I have really enjoyed reading about everyones life & adventures and looking forward to seeing some old friends & classmates at the reunion.

Randy Coutts & I have been married for almost 20 years (2nd for both of us).  We have a daughter, Mackenzie (17) & Randy has a son, Ian (24).  We have 6 grandchildren from my two older daughters, Jessica & Katy.

After 10 years in sales management with PSA & 8 years in management with Kinko's, I now work for an attorney in Coronado where I can ride my bike to work.  Randy  lifeguarded at the Silver Strand State Beach for 35 years, taught high school & coached swimming & waterpolo.  He now coaches our daughter's high school golf team & is the "stat man" for her high school soccer team.  During the summer he teaches surfing now with the help of Mackenzie.

Our job now is getting our daughter through the last year of high school and helping her find the perfect college hopefully, with the help of a soccer scholarship. Retirement is not in our vocabulary.  Our family is healthy and we do hope to do some traveling when Mackenzie is settled in college. We will see some of you at the reunion and greetings to all who shared their stories.

Comment: Ken and I celebrated our 37th anniversary this past January. We have lived in Lakeside since 1979 which is coincidentally the same year that Ken joined the Lakeside Fire Protection District as a firefighter/paramedic. I have been in the automotive accounting business for about 34 years. I have worked for the San Diego Saturn Retailers for the past 15 years. Ken retired from the department in 1996 and took up education as a second career and works at Steele Canyon High School in Jamul.

After being married for 15 years we adopted our first son, Andy. I then gave birth to twin boys when Andy was two years old. Kevin and Todd were seven weeks old when we attended the 20th reunion. They are now in the second year of college at Grossmont and Miramar, respectively. Todd plans on being a firefighter/paramedic and Kevin plans on being a high school history teacher. Andy graduated from the Art Institute of CA-San Diego in September with a Bachelors in Gaming Art Design. Looking for that first break in the business.

Ken and I are looking forward to retirement in the next couple of years and hopefully some traveling. Think we might start that part early with a cruise to the Sea of Cortez in October.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in July.
Hi Holly, see you there!

Comment: I am looking forward to attending this one, as I missed the last one (and maybe 20th).  At Hilltop, I was in the Future Teacher's Association, and have been teaching since 1975.......is Madame Wilson still at Hilltop?  A few of us traveled to Europe the summer after graduation with the choir teacher; and I have been traveling ever since.  I'll be returning from Bali a few days before our reunion.  Being the choir director at my Church is very rewarding and teaching high school keeps me young.  I married my Lancer boyfriend and it lasted almost 30 years; we are still friends.  My daughter lives in Singapore.  See you in a few months.

50 years!  Well, I've done a diversity of jobs, (Jack of all trades, Master of none).  Spent some time in Law Enforcement, San Diego P.D., Arizona Highway Patrol, some Security positions, just to name a few.  Worked as a Civil Servant with the Department of the Army and retired from the Army Reserve, (Cpt in '93).

Although marriage has not worked out for me, I've had the good fortune of sharing a portion of the last 45 years with three great ladies.  One gave me a son, Darin, (37), who is serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, assigned to

the Cutter Seneca.  Mom passed in 2000, Dad passed @ 94, in 2014.  I sold my Condo in Carmichael and have been Camp Hosting for the last two years.  Finally landed a paid position in the hills outside of Santa Barbara, Paradise Campground in the Los Padres National Forest.  I plan to pull my 24ft Travel Trailer down to DeAnza RV Park @ the end of September so I can see you all at our Golden Reunion!  Looking forward to it!  Hope you can make it!  Talk atcha later!

Comment: Well it has been a long short time.  I have one daughter 34 and three grandsons ages 11, 6 and 8 months.  My daughter  teachers school in the Huntington Beach K1-K6. My mother is still alive at age 93 and still lives in the same home for the past 50 + years.

After spending nearly 30 years in Real Estate and Mortgage lending I have move into semi retirement.   I still enjoy the water  sports after all these years.  Sailing being my sport for the past 7 years.

I look forward to seeing my old classmates from High School and even Jr High. Even some came from Hilltop Elm.

Most of us went to the 4 winds after leaving Hilltop High, it will be fun to see how much we still remember of our childhood and teenage years.

Comment: 40 years! Where has it gone? I stayed in the San Diego area for many years after high school. I continued my education for a time, worked for a general contractor, then got married and raised my family. After 14 years of marriage we got a divorce. Then I remarried a little over 13 years ago. We left San Diego went to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and lived there 6 months. Moved again and settled in Phoenix, AZ were we currently live. I have 2 children, a daughter who graduated from ASU 2 years ago, married living in North Carolina. My son lives here, he did 2 years of college and decided that was not for him. He went to work bought a house, became engaged, they then found out they were expecting my lst grandchild which is due any day.
