Comment: | Many thanks to Gracia and the reunion committee. I'm still living in Ft. Collins, CO. My husband and I just celebrated our 40th anniversary. We now have five beautiful grandchildren. Like my husband, Ron, I am a travel writer and have written a book called, The Travel Writers Wife (www.thetravelwriterswife.com). We are blessed in being able to have traveled extensively both here and abroad. We both do a fair amount of public speaking in between trips. When I'm home I enjoy bike riding, baking, reading, painting, and playing my ukulele. Looking forward to seeing all of you. |

Comment: | Wow - 40 years! Seems like only yesterday - except for all the adventures. In those 40 years I have lived in othercountries (Japan) and traveled to many more, raised 4 children (who in turn have blessed me with 10 grandchildren with another on the way), and am finally finishing my bachelor's degree at the U of Utah. I like to think that our family is one of the most culturally diverse around. My two sons both served church missions - one in Korea and the other in Argentina. Common languages spoken in our homes are Korean, Spanish, French, and the occasional English. I'm the last one to obtain a degree as three of the kids have their Master's, with one just finishing her Bachelor's. My aunt still lives in Bonita - many of you would remember her as Mrs. Austin, your third grade teacher at Rosebank Elementary School - so I'm home visiting quite often. She is always mentioning many of you as she has stayed active in so many community organizations that she hears EVERYTHING! I haven't kept in touch with many from our class except for Gail Harmon (Berkey) - who lives in the Denver area now, but am truly looking forward to renewing old friendships. Special thanks to Beth, Sandy, Nancy, and Gracia for coordinating all of this. It has truly been great reading up and hearing the news from everyone. |

Comment: | Hi Lancers, Just a quick summary of the last 50 years. After graduation I attended Southwestern College then onto San Diego State and received my BA and teaching credential. During my first year of college my hero, my father passed away from cancer which was extremely difficult, but sent me onward into life's challenges. I was hired for a teaching position by Sweetwater Union High School right out of college and then spent the next 37 years at 6 different schools in the district. I spent about half my time at the high school level and the other half in junior/middle school. Montgomery Junior High, Montgomery High, Granger Jr, Eastlake High, Rancho Del Rey Middle and Eastlake Middle. During my entire career I coached a variety of sports on all levels focusing mostly on football and softball. I also spent 5 years coaching softball at Southwestern College. I earned my Master's Degree from Azusa Pacific. Even though I had no children, I spent my entire career teaching, mentoring, and working with young people which has always been my most rewarding experience. I retired from teaching at the end of the 2010 school year, but continued coaching until 2015. During those years I built a custom home in Jamul on 10 acres where I have lived since 1971. I found the love of my life, Cecelia, in 1989 after my first marriage failed, and we married in 1991. We have been extremely happy together for 28+ years. We love to travel, go boating, and have always enjoyed family, friends and our Welsh Corgis. I play golf several times a week with my good friends from my coaching and teaching years. I also volunteer at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista (now called the Elite Athlete Training Center) as a tour guide. My health has been great after several challenging bouts with cancer, and my golf game has improved because of a new hip in 2012. I'm looking forward to seeing the class of 1968 after 50 great years. Everyday is a special gift and I look forward to many more chapters in the years to come! Life is good! |

Comment: | Hi, Lancers! I haven't thought of myself as a Lancer for . . . well, a really long time. My last name is now Takahashi; Dan Grider and I were married for 17 years, and have 2 amazing daughters (Erica & Katie). Then I was single for 14 years. I was blessed to meet and marry Sher Takahashi. We each brought 2 wonderful children into the marriage, so now I have 4 adult kids and 2 grandkids. He is Mr. Fun and I am his biggest fan, married for 5 years and still newlyweds. My daughter Erica looked on the web site and tells me she grew up looking at my yearbook and knows all of you by your names and senior pictures! I'm still looking for classmate Sharon Canales, and hope she shows up for the reunion. We were neighbors growing up and best friends through junior high. She loved George Harrison and I loved Paul McCartney. I spend my days at Cuyamaca Community College in Rancho San Diego (hi Beth Lambert) as the Assistant to the President, and on the side I sell Silpada Sterling Silver Jewelry, see web site. We live in Spring Valley and love to ride bikes and spend good times with our kids and siblings. Much gratitude to Gracia and crew for their years of faithfully pulling us together. Can't wait to see you all in July! |

Comment: | Hey everyone, last night was great. I feel like we've only just begun. Hmm! I can't believe I've living here and not ever seeing anybody, so it was a little challenging recognizing everyone last night. But it didn't take too long. What a great group of all of us Lancers. Whoo Hoo! I already put some of my personal information in the guest book as I'm still in the 60's as far as being computor savy. I'm working on it though, thanks to Gracia's gracious help with photos. See you all again tonight. |

Comment: | Hi Everyone, I can't believe it's been 40 years either! I'm blessed with two wonderful children, Jack and Renee. My favorite things to do are spend time with family, friends, travel to Europe every summer with my group of travelers, go to the movies, and volunteer for charities. I lived in New Mexico, where my husband, Jack, and I attended ENMU. Later my husband and I moved to Oklahoma where he worked with Halliburton in the oil field. We also lived in Houston until he passed away. I then moved to Albuquerque to be near his family and later moved to Kansas where my sister was stationed at Fort Riley. While there, I attended KSU and received my Masters in SPED. After my sister retired from the Army, we returned home in 1992, and have been happy here ever since! I love being home in San Diego and enjoy meeting up with old friends again. Looking forward to our class reunion! Let me know if you need help. |

Occupation: | Retired Dietitian, Diabetes Educator and Lactation Consultant |
Comment: | Life is amazing! After raising 2 kids with Mike Sevier, we divorced and I dived into a career as a Registered Dietitian at Children's Hospital. There I became a Certified Diabetes Educator and lactation consultant, and enjoyed working with babies, children and parents from all over southern California. At the same time I found my passion for horses and have riden ever since. I married Larry Lewis, a SD firefighter, fellow horse lover, and moved first to Julian for 5 years then to Sheridan, Wyoming where I continued my career in Diabetes Edcation and lactation counseling. In Sheridan we lived on 38 acres, learned all about water rights, growing and putting up our own hay. Larry was taken from me 4 years later. I decided to stay in Wyoming where I was supported by a small town of loving people. Shortly thereafter I met Bob Usher, a North Carolinian, in Wyoming to see his brother. We married 2 and a half years later. Bob loved Wyoming as much as I did and we raised chickens, turkeys, pigs, vegetables and made my property into a show place. After Bob had a devastating stroke in 2016 we decided to move back to San Diego, specifically to Bonita to be close to my family. And it has been good to be back. We spend our time getting Bob to rehab, working on our place here, riding horses, and best of all, seeing our kids and grandkids. God has been good to us and we are grateful. |

Comment: | 40 years ...thats a lot of years to have pass, yet I feel the same as I always have. Tammy and I have been married 26 years. We have three kids. Jacob 23, Molly 21, and Sophie 16. Some of you may remember Vener Farms at the west end of E street. We closed down the ranch in 1979 after 32 years of operation. I worked for 20 years in non-profits as an administrator. At age 45 I received a MEd. in Leadership Studies from USD. Google me and you can read how Tammy and I bought and restored a historic house. We received a SOHO, 2007 People in Preservation Award for our efforts. In 2008 we received recognition for Excellence in Architectural Restoration from the City of San Diego's Historic Resource Board. Life's been good. I remember how Chula Vista was a wonderful place to grow up in. I have good memories of many of you going back to Cook and Rosebank elementary, as well as Hilltop Jr and Hilltop High. Best Wishes to all of you. I'll see you at the reunion. Louie |

Comment: | Hi Everyone. Sorry I missed the 40th but I am looking forward to the 45th. We moved to Michigan 2 years ago. My daughter moved out last year. Just kicking back to the easy life now. Looking forward to seeing you. Has anyone contacted Tom Waits for the 45th so he can make plans. Him and I were very good friends. Miss you all. |
